Letters

SHORT FILM REVIEW

Directed by Seung-woo Hong

After suffering a breakup, a grieving man returns home and discovers a surprise.

“Letters” is a drama short film directed by Seung-woo Hong and written by Sam Liew.

Through a polysemic correlation between word and image, “Letters” offer to the viewer a singular poetical expression pertaining to cinematic language and this is the key point of this project.

Citing the director, “This is a film that came from an idea to create a story that was universal, that moved people and to try and capture a relationship from a somewhat raw and genuine place”.

Seung-Woo is able to do this, he’s able to transmit emotions to the viewers with this simple but good story and a good direction.

The pacing is high, thanks also to a right runtime for this kind of movie accompanied by a good cinematography with a really great structure!

“Letters” is for sure a nice short film.
