Vimukth

SHORT FILM REVIEW

Directed by Riyan Shetty

As the title suggests, this film depicts the story of a young mischievous boy, who lands himself in trouble at school.
He’s forced to spend the day in confinement to reflect upon his behaviour, and the ordeal eventually helps him understand the value of freedom.

Directed by Riyan Shetty and written by Darshan Prakash, “Vimukth” is a silent short film with an high production and social value.

The cinematography by Mridul Sen deserves a special mention because with his perfect work with lights, he gave to this short the perfect atmosphere and a point over.

Also the editing is almost perfect thanks to the work of Rikki Kajle (editor) and Raju Singh (sound designer), a key role for this kind of movie.

What does a silent movie need? A good screenplay with good actors.

Thanks a queitly good script by Prakash, acting in the right way by the young actor Sahil Joshi (very great performance at his age) and Nandu Madhav, “Vimukth” have all the ingredients for a good silent film.

Sincerely is hard to find any cons in this indipendent project.

Under the guide of the director Riyan Shetty, able to combine in a right way all his crew giving to this short a good direction, “Vimukth” is surely an high level short film.
